Hi Ben,

I poked a small wire through the center of the depression and wiggled it around and could not feel any kind of tube where the plastic guides would slide into. That's why I was wondering how the guides would anchor inside.

I do have the plastic guides that I found from the front seats of an 86 at a local junkyard.

Thanks.

No need to cut into your upholstery except for 'pilot' holes. The plastic guides (you see as black discs once installed) will just pop into those depressions and self-anchor. They you simply slide the headrests on.

The trick is harvesting the guides from old seats or buying them new.
