Both oxygenated-ethanol blended fuels are becoming the norm. Part of it is EPA requirements for the renewable (!) sources. There is a reduction of energy and the o2 sensor circuit will compensate for the added O2.

Following up on fonman4277's comment about oxygenated blends being a possibility, E10 gas is available and common in Oregon year-round and that's what I normally get pumped at my local Chevron, so that's not a factor here.
