Last week Wu-Wei, my '84 Westy and I were in NYC helping out with hurricane relief. We were noticed and appreciated. One of our list members (Peter K. from Toronto) offered to join in the effort and suggested that others might want to do the same. I spoke with a couple of the 'organizers' of Occupy Sandy - they thought it would be great if we could get some Westy's there to provide some hot meals to some of the people in need and the crews working on restoring some of the storm damaged houses. I was first there a month after the hurricane hit. I'm no stranger to disaster relief efforts but this was unlike anything I've ever seen. I'm back in Maine for a while -raising awareness & funds. I'll be returning to NYC soon for another volunteer stint - for undetermined length of time. Is anyone interested in bringing their Westy to NYC to help out? Check out this 24 minute video of the damaged what Occupy Sandy volunteers are doing to help out. This was filmed where I was, while I was there. http://vimeo.com/54432527# pmail me if interested, Thanks, Dake |
