I keep a small log book in the glove box, and I record all oil changes, ANY kind of mechanical work, adding new parts, lubing CV's, etc., etc.. I rotate my tires evey time I change the oil, and that get's logged into this book. All this activity is dated and the odo mileage recorded. Differential lube changes, transaxle lube changes, coolant changes, all of it.

I've been doing this on all my vehicles since I started buying cars when I was 16, 54 years ago. Since I don't expect myself to remember off the top, when these intervals and activities took place, it just seems like a simple, rational and easy way to create a resource that I can refer to. It was handed down to me by my mother, the only person more anal than me that I've met in the last 70 years.
