The talk of instrument consoles has me wondering if anyone has ever looked into producing just the plastic portion of the instrument cluster that the foil ribbon, the instrument lights and other parts and pieces attach to. My vehicle is a 90 and the remaining portion of this assembly is held together with glue, duct tape and good vanagon karma. I can only imagine what the older vehicle owners must go through with this. My experience has shown me that with correctly applied pressure and support the bulbs can be changed, odometer and other gauge components can be removed for maintenance or the entire assemble removed to access what is below. Has anyone looked into manufacturing just the plastic part that gets so brittle. Inquiring minds want to know. Thanks vanagonauts.
