There is a lot more to the conversion than the long block & that is
what the oil change is protecting.


On the other hand time has some value & you invest time to find a
$300 long block & bring it to the work area, you invest time to take
the old one out, you invest time to swap everything over, you invest
time to put it in and you invest time to get rid of the scrap block.
Oil is cheap.
