You're behind the times, Jeff. Around [I forget] someone came up with a computer program that could design arbitrarily shaped reflectors, and car makers instantly started making headlights customized to a particular vehicle. And naturally those headlights cost a fortune, since they're dealer spare parts and not consumables.

The Vanagon headlight looks like an ordinary rectangular - from a distance, where you can't read the $200 on it. Go take a close look.
