I agree that you don't NEED anything special. I'm sure I have done way more than 100 bleeds of Vanagons every which way and with various different engines. Once you understand the basic concepts involved there isn't much to it. However the LibbyBong is still a handy tool. With it you can do most of the bleeding without starting the engine. If I have a helper I don't bother with it. For me working alone it makes things simpler.
