I've had this unit for, I think, at least 8 years. First in my '82 westy and now in my '86 syncro. It has worked flawlessly all that time but recently I have noticed it is slow to combine the starting and house batteries. Slow to combine, leading to not combining. One factor that alerted me to this problem was my new Doc Wattson meter that I posted about a while back. I find myself looking at it to see what's what the way ones does when a new gauge is installed ( as an aside, I have noted a few peak amp readings that seem very strange and un-acountable. I still have to trace that down). Anyway, back to the ACR, what seems to have cured the problem was moving both adjustable pots on the unit full range a few times. Perhaps it was dirty contact in the pots, I dunno. Anyone else have this happen with their ACR? alistair |
