thecrank pulley will fit, but the timing mark on it is slightly different. If you want it right .. you want a real 2.1 crankshaft pulley, 2WD drive version. ( syncro slightly different in the seal area I believe ). I have these parts by the box-full. 2.1 2WD crank pulley, AC brackets and PS bracket .. and the various minor parts that go with them. your AC and PS brackets will be fine. It depends on whether one collects and holds on to manuals , tools, and parts ... if one is planning to do this 'vanagon play' long term ..then naturally all the stuff to support that habit starts to accumulate. and it's SO handy when you need something .....you dig in your stash ..the there's just what you need ! scott On 12/9/2012 4:55 PM, J Stewart wrote: > Ok, so I know have in my possession a used 2.1 engine for my '89. When buying a used engine, just like a used car, you aren't going to (usually) get everything you want. This 2.1 came out of a Doka, and it didn't have a/c or power steering-my '89 has both. So, I need a 3 groove crank pulley, a/c bracket, and ps pump bracket. I have a 1.9 already with all three-will they just swap right over to the 2.1? My guess is yes. I have also ordered ANOTHER Bentley manual. Every time I sell a Vanagon I sell my Bentley, then I buy another Vanagon and another Bentley-usually for more than I sold mine for-still trying to figure out how it always works that way.
