Rather than adding this to our almost 3 month 14,500 mile trip report, I want to thank many people for their help in making this trip very successful. In no particular order the following people have my sincere thanks and I am certain I forgot to mention a few people but if you sent me an email with advice, you know who you are. John Meeks for producing the Vanagon Rescue Squad app for the iPad. Larry Chase for his Repair Shop Reviews -- I downloaded the pdf list to the iPad. Vincent Chichak at Basco VW Service in Edmonton who worked me in to his very busy shop and stayed late to replace a seeping water pump gasket. Johns Auto Shop in Whitehorse, Yukon who had two mechanics look at a extremely slight seep issue. They said to not worry and keep driving -- no charge and they were correct. Mark Tuovinen of Anchorage for his words of wisdom about traveling in Alaska, suggestions on things to see and his willingness to help in any way possible. We spoke on the phone and my only disappointment on the trip was that we never got together in Anchorage but that was my fault and not his. Troy in Fairbanks who offered help if needed. Alistair Bell and Jeff Palmer who live in Canada and offered help if I needed it in their area of the world. Daryl Christensen of AA Transaxle -- With not much notice from me, he changed the gear oil and checked the van out for possible issues before we made the trek back to Virginia. Richard Jones and John Kulina who offered encouragement and friendship if we were in their area while on the road. Everyone on the list --- it was great knowing you were there and willing to help in any way possible if we needed help. Thanks everyone, Harold _______ Harold & Faye Teer 1991 Westy Harrisonburg, VA |
