hi. I see noone asnwered yet. I think the ends of the rods have plastic pivot points in them ..that clip onto balls .. those are somewhat 'lubricated enough forever' .. but I would spray those spots with a good penetirating spray grease ( how many times have I written those 3 words !? - thousands it seems. )

I would lubricated the shafts where they go through their bushings ..though that is somewhat self-lubricating. I even lube the pivot points on the wiper arms ... where a spring holds the wiper against the windshiled..those pivot points.

'if it moves' ...I generally lube it with 'something'. I use about6 or 8 different kinds of lubes , at least. ( Heck, I lube the ashtray hinge pivot points . or parts of the visors that move. )

it if moves, lube it. if it's rusty ..'treat it and paint it.' if it's dirty, clean it. and so on.
