Experimenting now with the Wix/Napa Gold. Have had good results with Fram Tough Guard. (Flame suit on). The Mobil 1 is both a good performer and very well made filter. Donaldson/Amsoil AO There are a number of high performance filters hitting the market. I am sure Mann/Mahle also make some but I don’t see them marketed.

The list and the several vendors who are generally recommended by list members seem to prefer Mann and Mahle filters. Despite their good reputation, they are inexpensive from list vendors. What are the "better filters that you refer to, where are they available, and how much do they cost?
