Laughlin is around 100 miles from Lake Havasu 
City & on the 17th of Jan they are having Buses By The Bridge.

If the weather cooperates for the Myrtle Creek 
Oregon to Redding California part, the drive all 
the way down I-5 is a good bet in the winter. Boring but safe winter travel.

If you have the time you could take 101 all the 
way down to SoCal, a good drive any time of the 
year if you ask me, then head east. If you 
crossed into the US from Victoria to Port Angeles 
the only risky part would be the vampires & 
werewolves down by Forks... and you'd pass my 
favorite rest area to spend the nite in a VW, 
"Dismal Nitch" just east of the bridge over the 
Columbia (on the WA side) going into Astoria.

The direct route through WA-OR-ID to Nevada looks 
to me like a place to avoid to in the winter but 
I have never tried it so I really don't know.
