Lesson to be passed on: If purchased with a credit card you may have some very good recourse if problems arise. I've had an interesting and pleasant experience this week with American Express. I bought a new camera at the end of November, an upgrade to my existing pocket camera. I had used it just once at the Vanagon GTG on Dec 2nd. I came home and downloaded the pictures. And then it disappeared. I hunted every place for it in the van, at home, and everywhere I had been since the 2nd. No camera. So someone else had to have it, therefore stolen. I contacted Amex to find out it such a situation was covered by their 30 days from purchase stolen or damaged insurance. They took the info and started a claim. And last night I got an email telling me they had credited my account for the entire amount. I checked my account today and there it was, a credit for all of it.
