Yes, they are instructed NOT to hookup jumper cables for that reason. The liability is theirs if they blow your ECU because they boosted it from the vehicle battery. But they can replace the battery roadside for you, if it's dead. You may have a charge problem causing chronic low batteries requiring frequent replacements. Let us know what the cranking voltage drops to....
