Mike ; on paper it looks to be a big operation - in the real world it's actually not so bad. I've survived it having had to replace the blower motor and the flap foams while I was there. it's a one day project in that it will crush about 3 hrs. go to Ben Place - see the photo spread of the entire operation -be prepared in advance and it goes like stuff thru a goose in berry season. disconnect steering wheel at the dash and leave it intact on the driver seat. remove top front grille and spray heater box bolt ends with PB Blaster before you dig in to avoid snapping them in place. if you look around you may find wiring connections to check/clean while you're in there and thin the odds of having to go back in soon. h t h      patience, perseverance and of course no fear           =( :D)            mike ________________________________ From: Mike B <mbucchino@CHARTER.NET> To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Sent: Monday, December 10, 2012 9:32 PM Subject: Re: Heater flap foam replacement detail   I've never had a Vanagon dash out (yet), so I don't look forward to the job....
