I looked into that when I was trying to come up with something for my van. That awning seemed a bit lightweight for the kind of strong winds and storms I usually see at festivals when I'm camping. I have NO personal experience with it, so my impressions may be wrong; you are smart to seek the counsel of those who have used them. The other thing is that I was looking for something to attach to a 12' x 12' EZ-Up type canopy. I had some strong tent poles laying around, ones with rubber caps in them, so I put together 2 of them, bought a 12" tarp, my wife sewed rod pockets in both ends, we attach one to the van, one to the canopy. I have three adjustable poles, 2 for the sides and 1 for the middle (yes, it takes up floor space, unlike Bus Depot's awning). I did buy the Bus Depot clamps to attach the rods to the rain gutter and those are awesome! My previous attempts to clamp the rods all failed. The other end of my awning gets clamped to the canopy with spring clamps. I wind up with a 12' x 10' kitchen and a 12' x 12' jamming space! My experience; YMMV... Marc
