Harry, what yr is your rig ? my 85 lost both heater control lights, clock light and lighter surround light when I installed a new Pioneer. chasing wiring via Bentley = headlight sw rheostat, maybe flasher sw, maybe defrost sw, fuse 13, dash pod, and T4 (where my problem likely is because it no longer exists - PO + now deceased radio). I think Alistair [dba RagnarHairyBreeks] over at the Samba experienced and/or cured this issue. will rummage thru their archives until help arrives here.  ________________________________ From: george jannini <georgejoann@GMAIL.COM> To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Sent: Saturday, December 15, 2012 4:16 PM Subject: Re: Fried radio, dash clock, and map light On Sat, Dec 15, 2012 at 2:57 PM, Harry Hoffman <hhoffman@ip-solutions.net>wrote: > Hi All, > I managed to fry the radio, dash clock, and map light when I went to > replace the map light. > All fuses, on the fuse panel, show working. > Is there some hidden fuse? Or did I manage to fry some wiring ?   Frying isn't likely- that's what fuses are for.  Instead of eyeballing the fuse, (it's #3) test it.  Or try a known good fuse in #3 position, then report back.
