I carry my long kayak on top of the poptop--hundreds of times, despite the dire predictions by so many on the list who have never done so. No need for a rack. With a rack on, I would have to leave my westy out in the driveway when a hailstorm or other bad weather comes up. I like being able to work on it in the garage, too.
