+1 on the Quick N Easy brand. I have a bike rack from Yakaima that is mounted on my rear hatch for my bikes but I also sometimes need to carry heavy long lumber, ladders, re-bar, sailboards, etc. I have a set of Quiick N Easy towers with yellow cedar, painted.... 2x4 cross bars, some galvanized eye lag bolts screwed into the edges to make tying stuff on easier. Quick N Easy really are quick and easy to mount up on the roof. With some gutter adapters, they'd go on a pop top, too....They attach with a cam-lever that is much quicker than Yakima or Thule. A quick snap, and they're on with the proper tension, etc.... The Quick n Easy is meant to use with a galvanized water pipe cross bar but I adapted mine for stronger and easier on the load wooden cross bars.

I know the OP was about racks for a pop top, but later it was mentioned about bike carrying. Here's a link to my solutions for that..and other stuff I've done on my low roof camper... https://picasaweb.google.com/112899774170781374478/VanagonMods?authkey=Gv1sRgCJnj78ukqaPufw#
