Forsure, try your other ecu back in. And ....that 'start signal'to the ECU does not 'energize the ecu' .. it's a signal to let the ecu know we're in starting mode - so the ecu will hold the injectors open longer sortathing.

it can start without that signal, just with more difficulty. As for the ecu sucking away power from that circuit ..I suppose that's possible but I sure have never heard of anything like that.
