lol...
don't want to start any 'long thread' or whatever..
I just have to laugh ..
it's a law practically that if someone mentions WD-40 someone will just
have to chime in 'it's not a lubricant'.
It does not use that word on the can ..
but it sure 'frees sticky mechanisms' ..
'drives out moisture' ..
I have used about 25 gallons of WD in the last 40+ yrs.
I simply could not fix cars without it ..or something just like it.
I cannot think of anything I have ever put WD on that ti did not help,
usually it helps a lot.
I am not saying to use it for a say ..
'door latch mechanismgrease' ...but to get things loosened up first
..it's great.
I love it for general corrosion treatment. If you happen to see engines
from junkyards ..
they are always just lightly corrodded ...like alumium is light
corrodded etc..
except for spraying right inside the alternator ..
I spray everything down ..wires, hoses, all metal ..everything.
I have been doing this for decades..if there was a real problem I would
know by now.
Cascade dish washer soap ..
I'll have to try it sometime.
Water Wetter does work for sure.
It won't make a lame cooling system work better ..
but it makes a healthy one cool better forsure.
I use Dot4 sometimes..
have yet to have a problem with Dot3 ..
are you racing and getting your vanagon brake temps to 900F ?
Come to think of it though ..
I barely use my brakes in normal driving. Mine just do not really wear
much at all.
I just change the brake fluid every two years..
and treat all corrosion religeously wherever I find it .
Marvil mystery oil...I use that for a hydraulic lifter cleaner sometimes.
I think it's probably pretty good for gasoline fuel systems.
Stay cozy !
