Try the Air Museum for an interesting little visit if you happen to be on the west penninsula near Belmont. Just off the freeway.... Small but has some interesting airplanes and motors. You might also be able to stealth camp around there...it is a semi-industrial area with plenty of big warehouses and lots around. I used to sleep over with my Alaskan camper pulling a 26' racecar trailer because my engine builder's shop and the dyno were right near there... Almost 10years ago, a single room at a Motel Six was about $100 bucks in that area....and whatever you do, avoid the freeways around rush hours.....like from 6am to 10am and from 2pm to 10pm....that area has real problems with traffic. Beautiful city, though...if you like cities. Don Hanson |
