The VW shop Frank mentioned is Geraldo's VW on Calle Madero, in La Paz. This street runs parallel to the seawall, and one block inland, in downtown La Paz. Easy to find...just ask anyone. The owner, Rojelio, is a good man and will treat you right. He sees lots of Vanagon traffic and might surprise you if you are looking for parts. I have a Syncro SVX with the TDI starter (read : very tight fit.) While in Baja, last year, the male, spade connector on the starter solenoid broke off. They installed a brand new solenoid (Bosch) and charged me 90.00 US Dolares, parts and labor. Daddy happy! Miguel
