Current German water pumps are made by Hepu.  I have had a Hepu on my
Westy for the past 10+ years, no problems.

In regards to 9.5 verses 10mm belts, Continental no longer supplies
9.5 belts EXCEPT for the 9.5x905mm (111 903 137 D) for the
Beetle/Ghia/Bus Generator.  For better or worse, Gates, Goodyear,
Dayco, Continental, along with several other manufacturers in the
industry have gone to standardizing the belt width from 9.5 to 10mm,
12.5 to 13mm, etc.  Notice I did NOT say it was right, it's just a
fact of the day.  However, it has been posted here that a select few
(Bando I believe?) still offer the 9.5 belt.

I have consistently used a 10mm belt on both my 84s for the past 10+
years with no consequences to the alternator or water pump bearings.
I check the belt tension periodically and have had no reason for
creating excessive tension nor have any belt squealing.  In addition,
I use a 10x765mm belt on my 914 and 411 Station Wagon even they were
originally 9.5x765 in the beginning, but no ill effects.  Maybe I'm
just lucky :)
