Got a set of these a couple months ago; they mount on the stock rims. Nice and square-looking, knobby tires. I've been told by my tow-truck driver stepson that they get lots and lots of miles. Couple weeks ago we had quite a bit of slippery ice on the streets here in Central Oregon. Mrs Squirrel's all-wheel drive Subaru Outback was doing a bit of sliding about, but my 2WD Vanagon (with 300lbs of sand over the rear axle) handled the same stretches with aplomb.* Many thanks to that Dennis Haynes for recommending them. ====================== * Colonel Mustard did it in the conservatory with aplomb. -- Jack "Rocket j Squirrel" Elliott 1984 Westfalia, auto trans, Bend, Ore. |
