great question, Jack ! had this happen to me about a week ago. thought the bottle cracked since I very rarely use washers. been too cold for rolling around the ground and now, (whew); I don't have to. thanks to Neil, Jim and Scott. the brain cramp to overlook the Bentley was all me however.      =(:|)           mike , still on the road to experience  ________________________________ From: Rocket J Squirrel <camping.elliott@GMAIL.COM> To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Sent: Saturday, January 5, 2013 2:38 PM Subject: windshield fluid reservoir I just filled mine. It's been a long time since I've needed to. I noticed that after I put in some fluid -- more than a liter -- fluid started dripping off the reservoir bottle on the underside of the car. Is that thing vented to prevent overfilling and soaking the carpet? -- Jack "Rocket j Squirrel" Elliott 1984 Westfalia, auto trans, Bend, Ore.
