RS is just an extra good black silicone.
like for say .....installing an oil pan where there is no gasket used..
it's super perfect for that .
cures quickly too.
comes apart nicely when you need it to...
get it in the caulking gun style, not the aerosole.
it really is Great Stuff.
I doubt I will ever be without some around from now on.
I wouldn't expect it to substitute for missing metal though. That would
probably work for a while.
