A caution: I wrote of this a year or so ago. If you replace the black horn ring with the tab, you my find that you cannot properly seat the steering wheel. The reason being hat VW made a change and told no one. I think the new ring also fits other model vehicles but no longer fits ours. The problem with the new on is there is a little shoulder on the new, not present in the old. the fix there is to very carefully swap the popper/brass piece from the new plastic back over to the old plastic piece. Worked for me. As for the lube, the dielectric grease would be the grease of choice because of it's electrical as well as lubricating choices. Good luck John
