Not to throw my 2 cents in but I will any way. I have seen some of the westy sunbrella tents being made with their furniture fabrics NOT there awning Boat cover fabrics. You can tell by the part number most of the time. The 1st two digits are for the width of the fabric and the last two are the color. If the 4 digit number starts with 46 OR 60 it is a Awning or Boat Cover material. Sunbrella plus will usually start with 84 as the prefix. And yes it can be used for Marine and Awning. The Last two digits still base it on color, NOW if money is no object there is 94 prefix which has a Flock Backing in another color, You Yacht guys know what I mean ( Actually If you Have a VW you probably do not have a Yacht ) But That is over the top sort of stuff. If it is a Furniture Fabric it usually starts with 54 as the prefix. So What I am getting at is The Awning / Marine grade sunbrella in Plus or Not is "STIFF" and Just not a good hand for a Top. "IF" in fact they are using the Water Resistant Marine / Awning and not a Seating sunbrella. I could not imagine a top being made in sunbrella awning, For the 1st 2 years it would be just a bear to deal with. After a bit of time it will soften, But it will take time.

I personally am not a fan of Sunbrella for Custom Made Snap down cockpit covers. I just do not like the dimensional stability of the material. I do not like having customers come back in 5 years with a boat cover that Looks great But is 3" to short to fit the snap locations, Now for Biminis and Boat Convertible Tops, I would use it no problem. I also do not think it is the best choice for the poptop, BUT, That is MY personal opinion.

Here is the Current warranty info on sunbrella http://www.sunbrella.com/en/how/warranty/ That Being said it is all personal choice, But consider the Original Cotton Duck Canvas lasted at least 22 years if you have a 91, Will it really matter about a warranty with it lasting say 22 years?

All in good fun. I Also PERSONALLY do need to replace my canvas and I will be using Cotton Duck Canvas. But that is me.

BTW Waterproof is usually NEVER used to describe Canvas or Tops. Water Resistant is what should be used.

Again All in good fun!
