That 2 pin connector is common to many cars including V's. It is so common that you can buy it new many places as a generic PHI wiring repair kit. It comes 2 ways. As a already wired pigtail that you splice in or as a housing with new loose pins you crimp onto your wire ends.

VW color codes the plastic while the generic kits are mostly black.
