Wow! I will be needing tires soon - I'll however be sure not to post to the list for any advice or my impressions with whatever it is I buy :)

As for the entire topic of traction tire, winter approved, chains - etc. Living in MI, that is all a very foreign topic. We have none of that - it's quite interesting to read about the rules and regulations in other areas. As a matter of fact the only rule I know of here (at least in my neck of the woods) is that chains are NOT allowed at all. That may be different further up north or in the U.P. - but here in the very flat east side of MI - NO CHAINS allowed.
