My last couple of installs were different brands but had the same wire colors. They are all probably made in China by the same factory anyway, or maybe there is some standardization in this industry. I've replaced old Kenwood with new Kenwood with no rewiring in the past.

The problem with remotes is that if they completely power down the unit, you can't turn it on with the remote. It's good that Alpine has a way to shut everything off!
