Everybody raps on any  light that isn't working ..
and on a speedo that's not registering, right ?

amazing how often that works.
None of my vanagons everhave their speed does this ..
but my 88 turbo volvo sedan does it commonly when it's cold..
gotta rap on the top of the instruments or cover.

points awarded for using the word 'binnacle' .  Was nice to read.
