I did not get any feeling of pulsation in the pedal while braking. I'm considering a wash-down with spray brake cleaner - everything looks coated with gunk. Any opinions on the wisdom of doing that? Peter

While the front passenger side was off, I noticed some friction when turing the wheel - as though the brakes were touching on part of the rotor. The rotor looks okay - not too scored. I had the pads replaced, but I don't think he did anything to the calipers.
