In Alabama, even if you are the most redneck of rednecks - with your car
in front of your house trailer sitting up on blocks with the engine out
after the car died - if you have a title, it is supposed have current
registration and if registered must have a current tag or license. If it
is licensed, it must have liability insurance. The annual tag serves as
the property tax. Of course nobody with a vehicle up on blocks ever does
all that - but it is the law! Screwy!
