I want to back David up here on switch repair.

Tim Hannick - list member from down New Orleans way - visited my place some time ago and repaired some of my switches. He removed them, disassembled them, cleaned the contacts, re-assembled and tested them and re-installed them. I was really surprised that the Germans had built those switches so that they could be handled that way. Don't be afraid of your switches.
