Fwiw my van which always ran one needle width above the led in SoCal lately peaks at ~1/3 here in Nova Scotia (NoSco?). This is with in-town driving, idling and so on.- plenty of time and opportunity to come to full temp. I have also been wondering about my t-stat, but it was -18C here today, so maybe that's it.
