HI,

from what I have seen in the past with VW numbering the letter at the end is incremental so c supercedes b which superceded a etc etc. There are a few exceptions that I know of however. In Vanagons there is the Euro ecu for the 2.1 the e denotes auto and f denotes manual, again however if using these in a US spec 1.9 you can use either. I know you where asking about Eurovans specifically but thought I would tell you what I know and have seen.
