Dean - awesome point ! my twist on your thought is to cover the vents to keep wind blown snow out while parked overnight or longer. my first thought was to glue vinyl screening to the insides of the grilles. now, what I'm thinking of is pieces of dollar store tarp with magnetic strips sewn into the edges ... or hemmed into the edges ... they could be wrapped around the extinguishers and be deployed in tandem. thanks for the mental jumpstart.          mike , soon to experience multiple puncture wounds

        One other point I'd like to make about VanagonEngineFires ~ I have
spent time pondering why they seem to do so much

destruction & have come to the conclusion that it may be due to the
fact that VW provided them with ~ Chimneys ~ DPillars ~

so one item that I have thought about having on hand in addition to
FireExtinguishers is something to quickly cover the DPVents

to try to prevent TheFanningOfTheFlames ~ or possibly just plugging up
the DPillars ~ are they really necessary on an H2OBoxer ~
