This the wrong stat. Note the size of the lower disc and it is flat.

I just fired up my 87 Westy after two weeks in chilly Boise storage with no lifter noise. Maybe this is going over ground already covered here, but I found that after I stopped using Bosch oil filters I don't get the clackety-clack because the Mann and Maile filters have a check valve that somehow prevents the lifter noise. Have others had this same experience, and does anyone have a better explanation of why this makes a difference? Boise Ted.

Sitting for long periods often contributes to noisy lifters for a little while after you start it up.

I have also seen very short periods of operation do that too...like run it just enough to back out of a garage say .. do that a few times and it can make lifters noisy too.

what do the engine builders say ?
