A common thing that happens to vanagon windows is that a metal clip (plastic on some windows) pops off the mechanism. But, it could be a number of things, none of them difficult to fix. You may have to order parts, though. If you can't raise the window glass up, you may find it difficult to get things apart. Once you get beyond that, it's all pretty easy.
