Etka 7 update 597 shows the radiator fan cowl for Diesel:CS up to 24-C-175 000 as NLA.

For DH and Diesel:CS beginning 24-D-000 001 it is 025 121 205. This is also used with the MV engine beginning in '86.

Beginning in '86 they list also 025 121 205 A fan cowl for vehicle use in warm climates, for models with towing facility, for vehicles with air conditioning.

Electric fan versions are given as 251 959 455 G -- 300/200 watt, 305 mm; also 455, 455A and 455E, same specs; and 443 959 455 E -- 500 watt 325 mm. Note the larger diameter, 12.8 vs 12.0 inches.

However the fan they list under air conditioning starting in '86 is 251 959 455 M -- 450 watts, 305 mm. They do not list the 443 959 455 E fan as used in any VW model in any market; and the 455 M fan does not show up in the list of fan variants.

From this somewhat conflicting info I *suspect* that the 205A fan cowl is for use with a 325 mm super-duty 500 watt fan, and that contrary to what I said before the 205 cowl will fit all the standard WBX fans. Check the number on the one you saved. If it's a 205 (no suffix) then I've been misunderstanding Etka and giving bad info for the last few years.

One more tidbit - they list two 305-mm BOSCH fan wheels, 811 959 465 A (listed "for fans 1-6"); and 251 959 465 B (listed "for fan 7"). I can't find a listing for a 325 mm fan wheel.

Yours, David
