It is extremely important for these terminals to be matched to the wire size and that the correct crimping tool is used. Particularly on high current circuits. If installing new wireing in damp or outside areas tinned wire will resist the elements a lot better than copper. Shrink tube sealing the wire crimp area also helps longevity.

Hi all.

This may also apply to Pico US, but for Pico Canada, these locking type push on connectors:

http://www.picocanada.com/en/product/134.php http://www.picocanada.com/en/product/135.php

appear to be the same dimension as an OEM terminal from an older style VW Vanagon fuse panel. The Pico fits and locks in that fuse panel. I can check it against other of same from elsewhere in an '85 harness if need be.

The only real caveat I can think of , is that the Pico part is possibly not as strong (as thick a gauge or work hardened from manufacturing?).

For any newbs out there, this may be an option. Had I known of these I wouldn't have bothered salvaging the VW parts from a headlight socket. (I cleaned them then re-crimped and soldered them on new slightly larger wires for a headlight upgrade to H4)

Question: if a #12 wire crimps properly onto the #14 (max) Pico terminal, is there any reason not do do this?

Thanks,

Neil.
