Subject: Back Lit Digital Multi Meter $25 Canadian Tire
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Hi all.

This is (or was?) on sale at the North Vancouver Canadian Tire. Maybe at other locations too? The web page shows the normal price:

http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/browse/6/Tools/2/Electrical/ElectricalTesters/PRD~0520055P/Mastercraft+Deluxe+Digital+Volt+Meter.jsp?locale=en

I found it in a bin at the store entrance. $25.

Not a high end meter, is some what bulky. Pros (IMO):

- rubber sleeve - probes feel to be of decent quality though they're "one piece"; you can't unscrew the sleeve at probe tip. Maybe that's a good thing? (stronger?) - can test transistors - back lit display. I got a 4" count after depressing the switch,

After my night foray into electrical trouble shooting, for me the backlit display seems quite useful. Am thinking this would be a good meter to carry in van for those dark and stormy nights.

Again, not a high end meter but my older Mastercraft is still serving me well.

9 Volt battery NOT included.

Neil.
