The run of each hose to the new clamps at the firewall isn't too long,
but thanks. That's something I should look at. I tried to take into
account drivetrain movement so gave those two hoses a little slack.
FWIW, for my Jetta swap, I installed rubber sleeves on the fuel hoses
where they passed through the firewall. (the hole in firewall is also
lined with some Vanagon trim. If that makes sense). The sleeves were
secured to each hose with a small cable strap.
My point: the fuel hose showed no signs of reaction of wear at these
points and the sleeves certainly protected them.
