I would say 'all subaru engines are distributorlessfrom 1990 and up, starting with the EJ22. some are even Coil-On-Plug, and most are 'waste spark' too. Having a Distributor is pretty old tech,.pretty much gone for all makes by the 2000's. A very nice thing not to have ! S.
