I still have that light (and some others) but now in the garage. I got seduced by a cheap (10 bucks) set of stainless housed, H3 bulbed, units. I stuck one on to replace the rubber bodied lamp. Well it sure works but the silvering came off in spots after a couple of months. Swapped the other of the pair in. I'll probably go back to the rubber lamp if I don't get my "back bumper with integral back up lights" project finished in the next couple of months. Now, about the bright light back there. I agree, it is silly and annoying to others. I need to wire in a "town/bush" switch up front. Believe me, I will do it. The cheap little back up beeper I have wired in is worthy. I put it in my previous van way back when my son ( and the other kids that share the property) were young. I moved it over to the syncro just for the added heads up effect it has in parking lots. alistair
