Despite the picture of me holding the tool in a gloved hand, I did it barehanded on the first splash plate - and consequently got a blood blister on my pinky. It is almost guaranteed I end up bleeding when I use that tool, either a finger or the web between thumb and forefinger get whacked.

I replaced the driver's side front outer cv boot a couple of years ago. It really is a pain to do on the syncro and I'm hoping the protectors will at least prevent debris caused boot failure.

Another reason is to have something on the van that my friend Simon does not have :)

cheers

alistair
